ONLINE SUMMER SCHOOL AGENDA & PROGRAM

This project brings together students from around the world who are interested in gaining and exchanging knowledge in the field of emergency medicine. The central theme of the summer school is emergency medicine, and it consists of the following topics:

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • BLS course
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Basic surgical skills
  • Management of trauma patients
  • Radiology reading and understanding
  • Microsurgery advanced course

Besides standard emergency medicine topics such as BLS, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and pediatric emergencies, we are organizing the following:

SUTURING, LAPAROSCOPY, BLS COURSE, CAR ACCIDENT SIMULATION, PNEUMOTHORAX DECOMPRESSION and BLEEDING WORKSHOPS

Scientific part comprises lectures, interactive seminars, practical skills, and daily cases. Every student can renew and expand their knowledge and master new skills. On the final day, a certificate of attendance will be handed to each participant at a closing ceremony. While all medical students are welcome, preclinical students who participate in EMSS can benefit the most.

The number of participants is limited to 35 per group to achieve a better quality of work in small groups using an individual approach.

ADVANCED SURGICAL COURSE

Our Advanced Surgical Course is designed for students who are looking to refine and expand their surgical techniques in various specialties. Over two intensive days, participants will engage in both theoretical and hands-on sessions led by surgeons. The course offers a unique opportunity to practice advanced techniques in a controlled, supportive environment.

Day 1:

  • Lectures and Practical Skills:
Participants will start the day with comprehensive lectures on cutting-edge surgical techniques, followed by practical skills sessions to apply the knowledge in real-time.
  • Workshop: Eye Microsurgery
Focused on delicate procedures, this workshop will guide participants through the intricacies of microsurgery on the eye, emphasizing precision and technique refinement.

Day 2:

  • Workshop: Microsurgery Technique
This session dives into microsurgical techniques applicable to various body parts, ensuring proficiency in precision-based procedures.
  • Workshop: Heart Microsurgery
Participants will engage in specialized training focused on microsurgical techniques for heart surgeries, enhancing their skills in one of the most complex surgical fields.
  • Workshop: Orthopedic Fixation
The final workshop of the day focuses on advanced orthopedic fixation techniques, offering hands-on practice in managing complex fractures and skeletal repair.

THE EMERGENCY MEDICINE SUMMER FAIR

The Emergency Medicine Summer Fair is an exciting international networking and educational event open to all interested medical students and healthcare professionals.

The Fair will be organized during July and August every year, in three separate groups, allowing more participants to join this unique experience.

Participation is completely free of charge.
Accommodation, organized trips, and daily meals are fully covered for all selected participants.

This event is designed as a dynamic networking platform where future and current medical professionals can:

  • Discuss emergency medicine and modern clinical practice

  • Exchange knowledge and experiences

  • Connect with colleagues from all over the world

  • Build long-term professional relationships

The aim of the Summer Fair is to bring together motivated individuals who are passionate about medicine and eager to learn, collaborate, and grow within an international environment.

Participation is based on a first-come, first-served principle, and places are limited within each group to 30 for accomodation and the rest can stay in nearby hotels or Airbnb on their own expenses.

If you are a medical student or healthcare professional interested in expanding your knowledge and professional network, we warmly invite you to join us by sending request on our WhatsApp number in contacts.

SOCIAL PROGRAM

We have decided to take the social program to visit some parts of Montenegro. We are not a large country, but believe us, 8 days are too short to see everything you need to see when you come here, so we have chosen a couple of tours to scratch the surface of everything.

Students usually visit a few places and enjoy the sea and mountains of Montenegro. Here are some sites that you will see through the Social program.

We want to point out that the timeline on the agenda could be changed, and the final one will be sent to you 30 days before your arrival.

3-DAY TRIP TO ŽABLJAK…

We will spend 3 days of summer school in the National Park Durmitor, in Žabljak. Accommodation and breakfast are included in the Registration fee. We will visit Black Lake and Tara Bridge (the deepest canyon in Europe) and the longest zip line in Europe.

ACCOMMODATION

I would like to give you some information about your place of lodging.  You will be placed in the same student flat, hotel, or hostel near the venue where you will have lectures and workshops. It is also a 15-20-minute walk from the city center.  More information about accommodation will be provided 30 days before EMSF starts.
